In a few hours, we’re about to watch the Liza Johnson-helmed “The Last of Us” episode, “Left Behind,” which is based on the downloadable expansion pack to the first game.

Here are some of the photos from the episode that HBO dropped earlier this week.

Here’s Ellie in her room, probably in the Boston quarantine zone. On the walls behind her are random stuff including a poster of the 1987 film “Innerspace” and the 2000 film “Red Planet.” Both films are owned by Warner Bros., which also owns HBO.

There’s also a poster of the phases of the moon and she’s reading a volume of “Savage Starlight,” which was mentioned in episode 5.

Remember that in the previous episode, we learned that Ellie loves astronaut and space. “Red Plannet” is not surprising, but “Innerspace”?

Ellie is shown here with the same black eye she has on the first photo. This is a military man’s office and she’s probably in detention or something like that. In the first and second episode, we somehow got the idea that she grew up in a school ran by the Federal Disaster Response Agency (Fedra) in Boston.

In the first episode, you heard Marlene ask Ellie, “Was Riley a terrorist?” This is Riley and that book Ellie’s holding is probably “No Pun Intended: Volume Too” by Will Livingston.

Here are the two again, obviously making their way outside the school at night. This isn’t the same night or day as the one in the previous photo because they’re not wearing the same clothes.

These are photos from the same scene. This is a carousel inside the mall. There was a brief mention of this mall in episode 2.

Another photo of Ellie and Riley. They look younger in this photo, so this probably isn’t from “Left Behind,” but from the comics “American Dreams,” which tells the first time Riley met Ellie.

There’s that “Innerspace” poster on the wall behind Ellie again, by the way. Behind Riley, there’s a “Mortal Kombat” poster, another Warner Bros. property. There was also a mention of the Mortal Kombat game in episode 3, although it wasn’t explicitly mentioned by name.

“No way! You ever play this one? I had a friend who knew everything about this game. There’s this one character named Mileena who takes off her mask and she has monster teeth, and then she swallows you whole and barfs out your bones! Ah. Oh, man,” Ellie said in that episode. This is Mileena:

Here’s Riley from that same scene.

Here are the two taking a look at products of capitalism at the mall. LOL.

Just top being nostalgic about outdated things like capitalism, you two.

Here’s Riley again. If you don’t remember where you first saw here, she from “Euphoria” and she’s Bloodsport’s daughter in 2021’s “The Suicide Squad.”
