Having a beer this New Year? Here’s why you need to let it foam.

Did you know you should actually have foam on your beer? Here’s why.

If you feel bloated after having a beer, I am a hundred percent certain you poured your beer wrong. So this New Year, let it foam on your glass.

That is way better because the CO2 is dissolved. If it doesn’t foam, the CO2 is instead released in your stomach, making you feel bloated.

I used to do that all the time. I tilt my glass while slowly pouring my beer into it, trying to avoid the foam, not knowing that foam also helps when it comes to the taste of the beer. As the foams dissipate, it releases aroma and your nose is given the signal about the taste of the beer. This is why food tastes bad when you are sick. If you can’t smell properly, you can’t taste properly either. You need both your smell and taste nerves to send a signal to your brain so it can identify what you are tasting.

So don’t pour your beer slowly. Pour it quickly and welcome the foam.
