The full list of nominees in this year’s Oscars is out. I’ve set the films and performances I’ve already seen in bold and I put asterisk after my favorites.

This is the first ever Oscars of my adult life in which the films nominated in the foreign/international category are films that I haven’t seen. I need to catch up especially Japan’s entry. I am not familiar with Wim Wenders’ work.

“Oppenheimer” has the most number of nominations with 13, followed by “Poor Things” with 11 and “Killers of the Flower Moon” with 10.

Meanwhile, “Barbie,” which I thought would have give Greta Gerwig her second nod for Best Directing fell short. This is Jonathan Glazer’s and Justine Triet’s first nomination, Yorgos Lanthimos’ and Christopher Nolan’s second, and Martin Scorsese’s tenth.
